There is this notion that car salesmen are very moneyed. This is actually not the case, there are struggling salesmen who hardly close a deal for months on end. They actually market aggressively but luck doesn't seem to be on their side. This has got nothing to do with the online cars they sell, or the second-hand cars on sale, or even the model. There are so many salesmen who sell everything from used cars, to new models, to second-hand cars without any problem. The question is, which car salesmen make the most money?

Better Commissions

Two car dealers with the same brands, in the same market, had different sales. Undoubtedly, the one that had a commission for the staff was making more sales. Of course, workers may not feel motivated to go the extra mile as long as they know that they will get their salaries at the end of the month.

Structure the salaries in that, with every deal closed, the staff gets a percentage. This will motivate them to go the extra mile to close deals. You can even make the salaries slightly lower than that of the dealers who have standard salaries, to enable you to afford to commission. Otherwise, why would one want to close ten deals yet they will earn the same as that who closed none?

the One's Stocking Cars On Demand

Most people assume that luxury cars sell themselves, that all you have to do is to just open doors for clientele and close deals. This is very far from the truth. Cars on demand sell themselves, and this is seasonal. You can do your research to establish which cars most clients are asking for. For instance, most online cars on sale are second-hand cars on sale. The middle-class citizens prefer second-hand cars as it is possible to get good deals at an affordable rate.

For luxury cars, most buyers prefer purchasing from trusted online car dealers, or dealers that they have had a long term relationship with.

Great Word Play

A very witty salesman is definitely going to close a deal than a salesman who is as dull as dishwater. Do not be too upfront with clients as it can be a turn-off. Of course, there are standard questions you can ask a client who walks in, like, "How do we help you?". What are the chances that it will be a fun conversation as compared to a dealer who asks a client "Are you looking for an SUV or Lexus today?"

Clients want to feel rich and important, and this you can achieve by just being witty with your wordplay.

Understand Different Cars and Models.

The truth is unless a client is buying an online car for sale, or just looking for a second-hand car for sale, most do not know what they are looking for, exactly why they come to your shop. they will look around and point at the model that has fancied them. The best way to lose that deal is by telling them curtly, "That's $10,000," and wait for them to actually sign the check.

The moment a client points at any model in the store, start spitting information about the car. Any car that is brought into the shop should be well researched so that you can be able to answer the client questions. You cannot make a sale if you are clueless. For second-hand cars on sale, you need to understand the mileage, the previous owners and such information. It is better to tell them that the previous owner sold it for an upgrade, not that they hated it.

Play Coy With The Prices.

Salesmen make bigger sales by obscuring the real prices of the cars. What are the chances that you will close a deal by telling a client that a car is $30,000? It most likely sounds out of reach. You can say a car costs $500 per month, as this will sound comfortable to a client. Clients may focus on how comfortable they are with the monthly installments than the actual price of the car.

Long Term Loans

Another strategy car dealers use is to make loans affordable. Every loan is affordable as long as it is stretched over a long period of time. However, you need to be realistic as people typically do not keep their cars for more than six years. Try to stretch it to at most 12 months.

Too Good To Be True Deals

Car salesmen who advertise too good to be true deals are bound to make more sales. they may not tell the clients that the only cars with that kind of deal, are only two. When you reach the dealership and find only the two, you are most likely going to "hurry while stocks last."

Offer Upgrades

This is another way that car dealers make an extra coin on top of the agreed selling price. They come up with upgrades, which may not be necessary. For instance, they may ask if you need an extended warranty plan or a tire upgrade, but these incentives will come at an extra cost. They will pocket the extra cost.

Conclusion

Making money as a car dealer should be easy whether your inventory has new cars or second-hand cars on sale. All you have to do like any salesperson, is to make the deal look flashy, have good PR, and of course know more than the client, as it will be impossible to get a tip if you are blank whenever the client asks a question.
